The RWB Shed were asked by Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council, if we could have a look at a bench that had suffered the ravages of time and in need of some tlc.
The general structure of the bench was generally OK, but covered with ingrained dirt. However the seat slats and supports were a totally different matter. Some slats were missing and the supports had suffered rot.
Because of weather conditions, the bench was worked on in Phil’s workshop, where Albi, Steve, Geff and Phil power washed, dismantled, sanded, prepared and renewed various pieces.
When reassembled and finalised, the bench was given several treatments of a nourishing treatment of teak oil.
The pictures show the various stages of the operation with the final pictures showing the bench reinstated in the Garden Of Remembrance.
